As a preventive measure against seasonal influenza, it is most effective to receive vaccination before influenza becomes prevalent. It takes about two weeks after vaccination until you acquire resistance to influenza. The effect of vaccination is said to last for approximately five months. It is necessary to receive vaccination every year, at a time before influenza becomes prevalent.
