The Coca-Cola East Japan Health Insurance Association prepares “notifications of medical care expenditures” so that insured people are able to confirm the amount they paid for medical care and the amount of the actual medical care expenditure.
Medical care expenditure paid when receiving treatment for sickness or injuries is decided uniformly in all the hospitals in Japan, based on the standard medical fee established by the Japanese government. However, the amount an insured person pays at a hospital counter when submitting his/her health insurance card will be only his/her co-payment. Therefore the structure is somewhat complicated, making the actual medical care expenditure difficult to understand.
Accordingly, Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Health Insurance Association prepares “notifications of medical care expenditures” to inform insured people how much they paid for medical care and benefits co-paid by the Health Insurance Association.
From FY2017, if you are subject to deduction for medical care expenditure, you are able to attach to the application form, on your final return, your “notification of medical care expenditures” as a medical care expenditures statement. Please make sure to keep it on hand.
Additionally, at counters of medical institutions, receipts will be issued on which medical care expenditures are recorded as items such as the initial-visit fee, examination fee and treatment fee, as well as statements on which detailed medical information is stated. Please remember to check and compare with the “notification of medical care expenditures” as informed subsequently.
